Kim & Tyson: An Outdoor Wedding in College Station, TX
This Texas wedding held true to its roots, complete with Deep in the Heart of Texas as the recessional and an Old West chuck-wagon style dinner. The Bride Kim Crumpler, 31, research assistant The Groom Tyson Hart, 25, graduate student The Date August 27 Kim Crumpler and Tyson Hart met as wildlife and fisheries science majors at Texas A&M University, so it was only fitting that their first date was spent sitting at Tyson's favorite birding spot, watching the sunset over the lake. Listening to the peaceful sounds of nature and sitting quietly next to each other was so romantic, Kim says. Three years later, the couple planned to spend Christmas with their families, then spend New Year's together to privately exchange gifts. In typical Tyson style, he didn't wrap my present, Kim remembers. He brought out a box containing a new Bible, something Kim had been hoping for, but since she could see exactly what it was she didn't take it out of the box. Tyson insisted she open it, and when she did she saw that it had her married name inscribed on the cover. When I looked up to ask Tyson about it, he was down on one knee, she says. He had the sweetest smile on his face and told me that I would make him the happiest person on earth if I would marry him. Naturally, Kim said yes.
