After five years of dating, Shawna “Ki” Rhodes was beginning to wonder if she and her boyfriend Marc Frontario were on the same page. They were in Washington, DC, for a friend’s wedding and by the end of the reception Ki’s patience had finally worn thin. “I was so upset, I didn’t think he was ever going to propose,” she says. Ki’s mother, stepfather, and a family friend created flower-filled pumpkin centerpieces for the guest tables, and dozens of apple red candles set a romantic mood.
Guest chairs were tied with rich brown sashes, which coordinated with the deep chocolate sashes that accented the apple red bridesmaid dresses.
The couple wanted an endearing song that wasn’t too mushy for their first dance, and “Grow Old with You” from The Wedding Singer was a kitschy classic.
The good times continued at the reception, which was ushered in by a cocktail hour filled with Rat Pack tunes.

The bridesmaids added chocolate-brown sashes fastened with antique brooches to their matching apple red separates. The groomsmen wore chocolate brown vests and ties with their Kenneth Cole tuxedos, while Marc kept things simple with an ivory vest and tie.
A picturesque gazebo on the grounds of Cypress Grove Estates set the stage for the soiree. A trail of rose petals and autumn leaves created a colorful aisle for Ki.
Even the wedding cake paid homage to the season. The chocolate iced confection, with tiers of red velvet, banana nut, and white almond, was decorated with tiny pumpkins, baby squash, and autumn leaves.
