After a surprise proposal, Kerry and Kevin's wedding unfolded fourteen months later at an elegant ballroom. The Bride Kerry Church The Groom Kevin Dillon The Date August 27 Soon after meeting their freshman year at Wake Forest University, Kerry and Kevin became the best of friends. The two even set each other up on dates, but it wasn’t until Kerry, now 26 and working in fundraising, went abroad her junior year that she realized Kevin, also 26 now and working in business evaluation, could be more than just a great friend. Kevin was on the same page, and the pair went on their first official date, to a Mexican restaurant, when Kerry returned from her studies. “We’ve shared many special moments over cheese dip and margaritas,” Kerry says. After four-and-a-half years of dating, Kevin arrived at Kerry’s door dressed in a suit for what she thought was a casual dinner. “She froze on her doorstep,” Kevin says. “I had to pick her up and carry her to the sidewalk!” It was there that Kevin dropped to one knee and Kerry tearfully (and happily!) accepted his proposal. Kevin then swept her away again to celebrate with a very appropriate Mexican dinner.

Roses were the bloom of the day. “The flowers reflected bright, celebratory, late-summer colors: orange, hot pink, and bright green,” Kerry says.
Kerry and Kevin loved the Dame Band’s energy and versatility. “All of the guests raved about the band,” Kerry says. The couple took their first spin on the dance floor to “More Today Than Yesterday” by Spiral Starecase.
The groomsmen wore their own navy blue blazers with white forward-point dress shirts. They sported matching dress trousers and green-and-white striped ties from Brooks Brothers, which were a gift from Kevin.

The Boutonniere
Kerry walked down the aisle in a white, silk A-line gown by Marisa with lace appliqués that started at the bodice and trailed down to the floor. Her fingertip-length veil had two layers plus a blusher, with thin, white ribbon cording at the edges. Kerry’s eight bridesmaids wore strapless, celery green, silk shantung knee-length dresses by Aria with a white ribbon woven into the bodice that tied in a bow at the front.
Tables at Kerry and Kevin's wedding were set with ivory linens, gold chargers, ecru china, and centerpieces of hot pink, orange, and green flowers set in square glass vases with slices of lime surrounding the flower stems in the water.
Dessert was butter pound cake with ribbons of raspberry fruit and vanilla frosting between each tier. The confection was covered with white vanilla buttercream frosting and a design of frosted flowers and pointelle dots.

Kerry and Kevin were married at Old St. Joseph’s Church, the oldest Catholic parish in Philadelphia (the building dates to 1839). “The church is gorgeous in its understated beauty,” Kerry says. “Our 225 guests filled the church, giving the Mass a warm, celebratory feeling.”
