Despite growing up on opposite sides of the globe, destiny brought Cincinnati-native Kerry and England-born Gavin together. Kerry and Gavin were seated together at Kerry's sister's wedding and soon realized that they had a connection. After the wedding they spent hours talking on the phone. Kerry soon flew to San Francisco where Gavin was living at the time and he wooed her with wine tasting and drives down the Pacific Coast Highway. The couple dated long distance for about a year until Kerry moved to San Francisco.
