Kerry served Eric at Starbucks one day. Eric overheard Kerry and her coworker talking about how they had joined an online dating site, so he went home and looked Kerry up. At the time, Kerry was already seeing someone, so she and Eric just became good friends. When things didn’t work out with that other guy, Kerry asked Eric to be her date to a friend’s wedding. They’ve been inseparable ever since. The Bride Kerry Campbell, 29, artist The Groom Eric Yaklin, 32, design engineer The Date August 16 Eric’s proposal, which came three years later, took an entire year to plan and pull off. He handwrote a four-chapter story (totaling more than 25,000 words!) and gave it to Kerry on a trip to Scotland. The final chapter had no words -- only a locked ring box. Kerry already had the key that opened it; Eric had given it to her to wear around her neck before their trip.
