She met Jon Vezendy way back when both were attending high school in Pennsylvania. He was a senior and she was a freshman when they had their first date (“We went to the movies to see Legends of the Fall,” she says. “I still have the ticket!”), but the two parted ways when Jon headed to college. They kept in touch through occasional phone calls and emails but didn’t reconnect romantically until Kelly had graduated from college and Jon had completed chiropractic school in Atlanta. Jon’s office Christmas party was the perfect opportunity to invite Kelly down for a visit, and the two began a long-distance courtship from that point forward. Two years later, Jon proposed at the historic Biltmore Estate during a weekend getaway to Asheville, North Carolina. And 15 months after that, Kelly finally became Mrs. Vezendy in a colorful Key West celebration.
