Kathryn & Trey: A Formal Wedding in Pinehurst, NC
At one point in the middle of their traditional ceremony at the picturesque Village Chapel in Pinehurst, Kathryn Knox, a sales rep, and James Conley Mitchell III a.k.a. Trey, an aspiring pro golfer, knelt at the altar. If you were up close, and inspecting the soles of the groom's shoes, you’d see that they’d been tampered with. The groomsmen had gotten hold of the shoes: they’d put masking tape across the bottoms, and with a black marker wrote HELP on one sole, and ME, on the other. We didn't know it until after the ceremony, laughs the good-natured bride. The videographer picked it up in the video, it's great! The Bride Kathryn Knox The Groom Trey Mitchell The Date March 17 In 1990, both Kathryn and Trey were students at Ragsdale High School in Jamestown. Trey had a huge crush on Kathryn, who was two years ahead of him and therefore untouchable. Naturally she had no idea. Apparently, one day he came home from school with a huge smile on his face and told his mother that the prettiest girl in school had smiled at him, says the bride. Of course I don’t recall that moment of love at first sight. Fast forward to 1997: After college, both were back in town, and ran into each other at a local hang out. This time, I noticed him, wondering who that hot guy was, Kathryn says. After dating for three years, Kathryn rushed home from the gym one night, about to jump in the shower to get ready for a party she and Trey planned to attend later. Trey stopped her, saying he'd picked her up something for the party—a gorgeous engagement ring. Boy was I surprised, admits Kathryn.
