Kate and Thomas met while studying engineering together at Dartmouth College, where Thomas was an exchange student for the year from Germany. They spoke at parties often and even collaborated on a project that fall, but it wasn’t until after Valentine’s Day that they had their first date. But before she got there, Thomas surprised her with a romantic proposal while the two were vacationing at Disney World. They spent the next year planning their wedding, and the following fall, they married in a beautiful, bilingual ceremony.
