Karen & Tim: A Red Wedding in Indianapolis, IN

Karen Pfaffenberger and Tim Hurlbut met on a blind date -- set up by Tim’s ex-girlfriend. She and Karen had met through mutual friends and hit it off right away, and two weeks later, she called Karen to say she knew someone who she thought Karen should meet. A year after Karen and Tim first began dating, the two went to “Christmas at the Zoo” at the Indianapolis Zoo where Tim asked her to marry him. They chose a palette of deep reds and purples set against black to play up the drama of their setting -- an old mansion that has now been converted into a bed and breakfast. “It felt like you were transferred right back into the past,” Karen says.
