For Kam and Michael, the phrase “home is where the heart is,” could not ring more true. The couple spent 18 months building their small 1,000-square-foot house on 75 acres at the foot of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. And when move-in day finally arrived, Michael seized the moment to propose. It was only fitting that their wedding be held there too. Surprisingly enough, the vintage truck was not painted for the occasion -- a friend of the couple just happened to have one at the ready! Kam and her bridesmaids, along with her father, piled into the vintage vehicle (the girls sat on quilts and a bench in the back so their dresses wouldn’t get dirty), and a friend drove them up to the ceremony site.
A trip back home to New England was required for Kam to find the perfect gown. She returned with a custom-made clean and simple strapless A-line gown from The Altered Bride with embroidery, satin trim, and a cathedral-length veil.
Small bits of blue tweedia added a touch of color to Kam’s bouquet of white sweet pea. A chocolate-brown ribbon pulled in the wedding’s secondary hue.
“We picked the blue for the Colorado skies, and the earthy natural browns made a good mix,” says Kam. The girls wore chocolate-brown faille strapless dresses accompanied by cork heels and held bouquets of baby blue hydrangeas. centerpieces Low arrangements of various white flowers (hydrangeas, tulips, and roses) set the elegant and eclectic vibe.
One of Kam’s favorite details were the escort cards clipped to a clothesline. The cards were hand-drawn by a talented family friend and featured the image of a snow-capped mountain. Cards were hung with wooden clips on the clothesline in their garden in front of the entrance to the reception tent.
The Reception
Beneath a large white tent in the couple’s driveway, round and square tables were draped with white floor-length linens and baby blue runners and covered in all-white centerpieces. Guests sat down in chocolate-brown chiavari chairs for family style appetizers, followed by a sit-down dinner and dessert.

The Ceremony Decor
Programs for the service were printed in baby blue on white card stock and tied off with a simple baby blue ribbon.
Three flower girls and a ring bearer upped the wedding party’s adorable factor. The girls wore cream- and toffee-colored Joan Calabrese dresses and sweet ballet flats.
Even the ring bearer’s pillow picked up the blue and brown theme. Michael’s mom made the baby blue pillow with a rich chocolate-brown bow, white lace trim, and pearl detailing.
