Julie thought she was just going to a party with a few friends when she met Andy in 2003. After most guests had left, a small group gathered in the kitchen. Ironically, they ended up discussing the pros and cons of marriage. I was a believer and Andy was a skeptic! Julie says. Despite their difference in opinion about tying the knot, the mismatched group of friends hit it off and decided to all hang out again. One night, while out at their favorite restaurant, Andy forgot to get his keys from the valet before it closed. Julie still thinks he did it on purpose, because with no car, she had no choice but to invite him to crash on her couch. Julie and Andy credit their friends Deron and Ian with introducing them, but they're not the only ones. Julie's maid of honor, Amy, met Andy's best man, Alan, at the very same party five years ago and they are now engaged. Talk about a successful night out!

English garden arrangements with cherry blossoms, ranunculus and hydrangeas were placed over hemstitched linens. The table cards were created by a calligrapher who also handmade the escort cards.
A cherry blossom design on the four-tiered cake was a tribute to Julie's Korean background. Her favorite part? Cartoonish Korean bride and groom figurines placed on top!
Julie felt a close connection with the lead singer of the wedding band, Shaggie Maggie, who is a breast cancer survivor. Julie's mother died of the disease when Julie was two-years old. After dancing with Andy to Someone Like You by Van Morrison, the bride stepped onto the floor with her father. We talked about my mom the whole time, she says.
Julie and Andy were married in a quaint white chapel called The Meeting House in Carillon. With white wooden walls, hardwood floors and tons of tall windows overlooking a lake, the chapel didn't need much so the couple kept decor simple by placing white blooms in clear vases along the windowsill.
Andy and his groomsmen sported white ranunculus and blue and brown striped ties with their tan suits.
Guests took home sandalwood fans with blue tags that read, Keep Cool, Andy & Julie, May 3, 2008.
