Joiye Rayandayan and Gino Castro were first introduced at a party, and for a year afterward they remained just pals. That is, till one day when they both began to look at each other differently and their friendship turned to romance. After Gino proposed to Joiye on Moss Beach in Montara, the two began planning a beautiful garden wedding. They started with dreams of a small affair, including about 40 guests. Naturally, that guest list doubled, but they managed to create a feeling of intimacy at their wedding by choosing a magical setting.

Joiye and Gino's rustic, elegant ceremony and reception site is built into a cliffside and is reached by an old-fashioned cable car or a meandering garden path.

The florist, a friend of a friend, exceeded Joiye's expectations. There were flowers everywhere, says Joiye. It was like a dream.
In keeping with the garden setting, Joiye and Gino's rings were nestled in a bird's nest from their yard instead of on a pillow.
Joiye and Gino's Catholic wedding ceremony began at 10 a.m. As they stood with their priest beside the creek that runs through the hillside setting, a vocalist began to sing Our Father, and Gino felt a sudden warmth on his neck. The sun had indeed chosen the perfect moment to break through the clouds and fog, gracing the couple and their 85 guests.
When Joiye and Gino were pronounced husband and wife, they each released a single dove; followed by ten more released by their handler.
