Jewel Tones Brought This Regal Estate Wedding in Western Michigan to Life

After dating Andrew Chen (29 and a physician) for 10 years, Ashley Betke (28 and a preschool teacher) had a clear vision in mind for their big day. “We knew what type of feeling we wanted, so I pulled together all of the details,” Ashley says. The end result? An enchanting and romantic garden party with lots of lush flowers and greenery accents to enhance their venue’s French countryside chateau vibe. The duo sent out invitations with a greenery border, walked down a grassy aisle covered in rose petals and celebrated at a candlelit table draped in linens, completing their whimsical weekend.  For the reception, Ashley’s sister baked the pair a three-tiered cake with chocolate, carrot and marble layers, all coated in buttercream frosting and adorned with delicate blooms and crisp greenery.  The couple served two signature cocktails named after their pups, displaying the special drink options on a custom sign.  For another sweet treat, guests got fun custom sugar cookies shaped like the pair’s golden retriever dogs. Later in the evening, the lovebirds twirled around to “Day 1” by Honne for their first dance. “We thought the lyrics fit our relationship perfectly,” the couple says.
