After an 11-month engagement, Jennifer and Phil married at Old St. George in Clifton. The two were classmates in a masters program in communications at the University of Cincinnati when they met, and both were involved in relationships with other people. But they saw each other five days a week, studied together all the time, and before long it became apparent that they were attracted to one another. The couple waited until they’d completed the program and broken up with their significant others, though, before confessing their true feelings. “We realized we were fated to be together,” says Jennifer. Five years later, Jennifer walked through the door of their home to find it romantically lit with candles, with four dozen orange roses and a little red box waiting on the table. The song “Question” by the Old 97s was playing in the background. Her answer to his question was yes.
