An Eclectic Vintage Americano-Themed Wedding at the Smog Shoppe in Los Angeles, California
Jennifer Santos (28 and a media supervisor) and Lloyd Estacio (29 and a manufacturing engineer) got to know each other during college, participating in several of the same extra curricular groups. They finally took the plunge and started dating after a little push from their mutual friends and five years later Lloyd popped the question on their annual trip to Las Vegas with their good friends. Coming from a traditional Filipino family, Lloyd, with his father in tow, headed to the home of Jennifer's parents to ask for their permission to marry her before the trip. Once he, Jennifer and their friends arrived in Vegas, Lloyd got down on one knee and proposed. The timing couldn't have been better, the newly engaged couple and their friends were in the perfect place to celebrate. When it came to planning their wedding, Jennifer and Lloyd wanted the celebration to be an opportunity for them to share all of the things they loved with their family and friends. They went with a "vintage Americano" style for the day, choosing the Smog Shoppe in Los Angeles for their venue. The unique space was the ideal backdrop for the fun eclectic affair, with its succulent walls and retro chic aesthetic. The couple chose a bright color palette of peach, orange, mint and gold and incorporated lots of personal touches like a Filipino fusion menu and diy accents like bottle vases, hand-crafted wine bottle candle favors and chalkboard signage. A subtle beer theme ran through the day as well, with Jennifer and Lloyd, serious beer enthusiasts, serving up some of their favorite craft beers during the reception and adding hops and caps into the boutonnieres.
