Jennifer and Kieran attended Boston College at the same time but didn’t officially meet until a little Irish luck brought them together. The two were studying abroad in Galway, Ireland, and first laid eyes on one another at a student welcome dinner. “Kieran always says that he noticed me right away,” says Jennifer. The Bride Jennifer Lizza, 29, legal assistant The Groom Kieran O'Connor, 27, bond trader The Date September 3 Dinner later turned into drinks at The Front Door, a nearby pub, where Jennifer confidently struck up a conversation with the handsome lad. “We immediately realized we had a lot in common and ended up talking most of the evening,” she remembers. Within a few weeks, the new friends became an official item. Six years later, Kieran surprised Jennifer with a weekend getaway to…where else? Galway! After a romantic day strolling around town, reminiscing about their budding courtship, the two stopped at The Front Door for a predinner cocktail. It was there, where the couple first met, that Kieran got down on one knee and proposed.

The Centerpieces
Bouquets of cream and pale pink roses added a splash of soft color.
Four bridesmaids complemented the weddings day’s neutral palette in chocolate-brown satin A-line dresses punctuated with an ivory grosgrain ribbon at the empire waist. The maid of honor wore the same color gown but in a mermaid style with a lace back.
After the cocktail hour, Jennifer and Kieran's guests were ushered into a tent -- lit by three large gold chandeliers -- for a seated dinner and dancing.
The Decor
Pink and cream roses cascaded down the five-tiered wedding cake. Inside, layers of chocolate cake were combined with chocolate mousse and fresh berries.
Jennifer’s mom made coordinating programs, reception menus, and place cards. All stationery pieces were embossed with the couple’s JK monogram.
Jennifer and Kieran loved the idea of exchanging vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony with lots of family and friends in attendance.
