For the ceremony and reception site, Jennifer and David chose the Artisan Ballroom at the Barr Mansion in Austin. A rough-hewn wooden structure, the ballroom is actually the reincarnation of an 18-century upstate New York barn that was brought to Texas and reassembled timber by timber. David's cake was a chocolate and raspberry torte with ganache glaze and fresh raspberries.
At the end of the night, Jennifer and David departed in a friend's black 1957 Chevy Bel Air, which the groomsmen had decorated with shoe polish and cans. We were amazed and delighted with the outpouring of congratulatory honks and hollers from passers-by as we drove from the reception to the hotel, Jennifer says.
