The Bride Jeannette Cole, 35, self-employed The Groom Mark Cavanaugh, 44, global sports marketing The Date September 2, 2006 On the first nice day of fall, the couple and their dog, Cotygirl, prepared for a day of apple picking. While taking a picture, Mark pretended to fit Jeannette and their dog inside the camera’s frame before going to set the camera’s timer. Instead of taking the picture, he was down on one knee proposing to a very surprised bride-to-be.

Jeannette was radiant in a strapless white dupioni silk gown by Marisa Bridals Couture. A fully ruched bodice elegantly wrapped around the entire dress. She opted for a simple ’do (sans veil) with pinned-back hair accented with cymbidium orchids.
The four-tiered, square cake with three different flavors was a real treat. Guests noshed on vanilla chiffon, dense chocolate, and carrot cake, all topped with a smooth buttercream frosting. The bases of the layers were wrapped with a sage satin ribbon with real green orchids placed on the top.
Reflecting the all-white, natural theme of the wedding, Jeannette’s bouquet was bundled with white roses, green cymbidium orchids, and hypericum berries.
The florist used one table to showcase the various types of flowers used throughout the reception. In all, there were 15 vases that displayed the wonderful array of white flowers.
The First Dance
Jeannette and Mark wanted their guests to experience the beauty of the rocky New England seacoast. Their quintessential New England ocean-side wedding wasn’t quite what they expected, as temperatures dropped below freezing, with waves violently crashing against the shoreline. Described as “romantic,” by many of the guests, the reception was luckily held inside!
