When Ryan Duffield (27 and an attorney) met Jamie Loeks (also 27 and an attorney) during their first year of law school at the University of Michigan, he joked that she was the most nautical person he knew. So three years later, when it came to plan their wedding, they chose the shores of Lake Michigan and a nautical, preppy theme for their day, complete with stripes, polka dots and monograms. The beach-chic affair combined formal, indoor elements with their open-air lakeside locale for an elegant-yet-laid back vibe. Textured linens, feminine florals, natural wood and glam pops of gold paired with a color palette of white, navy and pink brought it all to life.
