It's Hard to Believe This Wedding Took Place at Villa de la Vina in Angora Hills, California, Not Italy

Although Tiffany and Antonio tied the knot in Angora Hills, California, they drew inspiration heavily from Italy, a destination they fell in love with during a trip early on in their relationship. "A few years ago during a trip to Italy, Antonio and I got to spend a few days in Positano and explore the Amalfi Coast, where we fell in love with the culture, people, food, sights and everything in between. We loved this trip so much, that we wanted to add little things that would remind us of Italy into our wedding," explains Tiffany. "Villa de la Vina was perfect because of its Tuscan-influenced architecture. With the Amalfi Coast as our inspiration, our vision was to go effortless but timeless. Our color scheme was pastels with pops of pink and greenery. Our day was more than just about us two exchanging vows, but also about our families, and the culture and traditions that we were each bringing into our marriage," explains Tiffany. "It was really important to us that we included special touches and details that were important to us and our families. Antonio’s mom found the champagne coupes that she and his father used on their wedding day 40 years ago—and we were so lucky to include those in our day as our champagne coupes for toasting. Originally, we had planned a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony but decided to cancel due to the pandemic, and instead dedicate some time after dinner to receive well wishes and red envelopes from our families. It was so special to be able to change into a traditional Vietnamese ao dai. I know it meant so much to my parents, and even my grandparents who could not be there. And it was so special to have Antonio, his family, and our friends experience traditions that are special to my family."

The celebration's Italian influences were present from the very beginning with a wedding ceremony framed by two olive trees. "Our ceremony location was framed by two large olive trees, which reminded us of the olive groves we saw in Italy. Our florist really brought our Italian vision to life with stunning ground arrangements along the aisle and a semi-circle ground arrangement at the end of the aisle where we would exchange vows. The venue was already so beautiful so we really wanted them to complement what was already there. I think that the florals played a large part in the overall style of our wedding day. I love flowers, and wanted our florals to be our main decor," says Tiffany. As for the rest of the decor, "the pool at the villa and sunset on the Malibu Canyons was the perfect backdrop for our reception. I loved the use of bistro lights and candles to light the beauty that was already there. We utilized a lot of greenery, shades of white and pink throughout, and candlelight. Then we accented with gold, and draping fabric. We also added some lemons on the tablescape from my mother-in-law's trees! The one DIY task that I took on, was handwriting the place cards for our guests."

"Our vision for our wedding day may have changed and evolved significantly, but in the end, it was perfect, fun, and intimate. I honestly couldn’t imagine it being any other way now," says Tiffany of how COVID-19 affect her and Antonio's wedding. Although the couple ended up getting legally married over video stream earlier in the pandemic, the day they celebrated their wedding in person happened to also be the 40th wedding anniversary of Antonio's mom and late father, a fact Tiffany and Antonio nodded to by using the same champagne coupes from their wedding. Tiffany goes on to share that "being able to celebrate with some of our closest family and friends was amazing. It was a very long journey to get to the point in which we could celebrate our marriage. Although it's not what we originally envisioned, a small and intimate wedding gave us the opportunity to talk to everyone, and to enjoy and soak it all in. We were just so overwhelmed with love and support throughout our day, and so happy to be together with our loved ones."
