It's Hard to Believe This Wedding at Cator Woolford Gardens Took Place in Atlanta, Not Tuscany
Nestled in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, is Cator Woolford Gardens, a dreamy escape that immediately transported Kristy and Colin's wedding guests from the bustling metropolis into a romantic, Italian-inspired bucolic wedding celebration. Beyond the couple's distinctly European elegance at their wedding, Kristy and Colin also paid homage to other far-flung locales they hold close to heart. From a color palette reminiscent of their first date location, Zion National Park, to Asian- and Southern-inspired menu offerings celebrating Colin's childhood in Singapore and Hong Kong and Kristy's Atlantan background, the wedding was a true representation of the duo. Subtle nods to their current home in New York City and their engagement location of Sonoma, California, also wove their way into the destination-infused nuptials.
The Zion-inspired color palette of "dusty blue, tones of grey and caramel, soft yellow, cream, hints of champagne and blush, rose," effortlessly brought the couple's vision of a wedding that felt "warm and elegant, but relaxed at the same time," to life. To complement their dream aesthetic, Kristy wanted "the florals to be soft and artistic, not overwhelming." As such, the twosome's floral designer brought together arrangements filled with "lisianthus, ranunculus, dusty miller, astrantia, astilbe, hydrangea, ruscus, pierus, snowberry, and lots of open, lush roses. Some of my favorite elements were the arrangements on the tables. They were created in gorgeous low-footed urns. We also had beautiful urns at the back of the aisle, which really brought the ceremony together. We tried to reuse where possible since we had a few different spaces we were hosting in, and that worked great!"
When looking back on their wedding day at Cator Wolford Gardens in Atlanta, Kristy and Colin recall that they "really had the most perfect day, where everything seemed to go smoothly. At one point, we had a moment alone in the gardens where we were able to just soak in all the happiness and warmth of the night and feel grateful to officially start our married life together. Our advice to couples currently planning their weddings is to pick a vendor team that you trust, so you can relax and enjoy the day. It goes by fast, so savor each moment!"
