Iridescent Lilac Details Filled This Wedding at Greengate Ranch and Vineyard in San Luis Obispo, California

Having met while at Cal Poly, Madi and Jordan brought their college friends back to San Luis Obispo for their wedding at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard. “We wanted it to be a big party, so our overall theme was fun,” Madi says. The couple had a few specific requests to help bring their vision to life: disco balls, neon signs, crinkle-cut fries and lots of hydrangeas. “My great-grandparents grew up in the Azores, which are covered in beautiful hydrangea bushes,” Madi says. “I’ve loved them ever since I visited the islands in eighth grade.” Madi’s gals chose mismatched dresses in shades of purple and blue and carried bouquets of roses, astilbe and anthurium. Holographic foil-stamped invitations and a disco ball wax seal set the tone for a fun, whimsical bash. A balloon garland, silver velvet drapes, disco balls and lilac pillar candles decorated the entrance to the barn where the reception was held. A club-like atmosphere awaited guests inside with modern chandeliers, shag rugs and a glossy white dance floor. A graphic installation of boxes topped with orchids, hydrangeas and anthurium framed a frosted acrylic seating chart while iridescent fringe added a party-ready shimmer to the round wood bar. Cake pop cones, macarons, Rice Krispies treats and cookies surrounded a vanilla ombré funfetti cake.
