An Intimate Waterfront Wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York

Elizabeth and Fermin hosted an intimate wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, with stunning views of lower Manhattan to celebrate their marriage. "The most important thing for us was being able to gather and celebrate with our friends and family. We wanted something that felt like us and was modern," explains Elizabeth. "We chose Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn because Fermin grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and when we visited the venue we instantly fell in love with the industrial feel and the waterfront views."

The couple's wedding was intentionally understated, allowing the beauty of their venue (and the New York City views!) to really shine. "Our wedding decor was pretty minimal because we wanted the waterfront views, florals, and lighting to speak for themselves. We wanted something that felt modern and not overly stuffy," says Elizabeth. "At the same time, we did not want to hide how our unique venue captures Brooklyn's character, energy, and the irresistible pull it has on our lives. We had a custom-made neon Chinese double happiness sign shipped from Fermin's family in China. We hung the sign behind the DJ as a symbol of a happy marriage."

Elizabeth shares that one of her favorite parts of the wedding "was our first look and getting a chance to spend time together before taking our vows. We also wrote our own vows and had our friend perform the ceremony for us which was very special to us both. And then obviously dancing! Our DJ had us on the dance floor all night long and really personalized the playlist to the songs we liked. We met at Coachella so the playlist was really personal for us and incorporated all of the songs when we first met. Our first dance song was the instrumental version of Kygo's 'Firestone' which was the closing song at Coachella the first year that we met and spent together there. Another highlight for us was getting the chance to catch up with many of our friends that we have not seen for a few years due to COVID-19. Our DJ had the dance floor going to the point where Fermin and Fermin's mother shared a dance to Travis Scott that somehow eclipsed their planned mother-son dance."
