April Bell (38 and an art director) and Damon Ahola (39 and a product designer) share an eye for creativity–in fact, it's one of the things that first bonded them. "I noticed Damon's dating profile mentioned a love of Scrabble and design," April says. "He was lured in by my passion for typography and my own mention of design." In that spirit, the pair planned an intimate wedding full of their own creating, from the ring, which Damon made with a 3-D printer, to the modern invites, which April conceptualized.
The pair chose a low-key ceremony for both practical and sentimental reasons. "As an introvert, walking down the aisle wasn't appealing to me," April says. "I also liked seeing people from all over the world coming to the city to celebrate love."
