Though Ashley designs weddings for her nine to five, when it came time to organize her own celebration with Daniel, she had to pause. “I initially wanted a wedding in Italy but realized that some of our closest family members wouldn’t be able to make the trip abroad,” Ashley says. “Instead, we chose Dripping Springs because it has the stunning vistas and ambience of Europe but is only 30 minutes from Austin.” Their wedding, a close-knit celebration for 35, began with a ceremony outdoors followed by dinner to the tune of string musicians. After what the couple calls a “fancy dinner party,” they roasted s’mores with friends before turning in to one of Camp Lucy’s casitas for the night.
“The biggest inspiration was the vision of an alfresco garden party in the Italian countryside,” Ashley says of the event’s European edge. To re-create it, the reception was styled with ivory and blue linens, candles, and vases filled with anemones, chocolate cosmos, dahlias, peonies and textured greenery. Stone candles added understated glamour to the lawn leading up to Ian’s Chapel, a French Colonial–style church at Camp Lucy. “I’m a veil fanatic,” Ashley says. “Instead of jewelry, I opted for a cathedral-length drop veil with a blusher that fluttered in the breeze.”
