Industrial Vibes Meet Disco Fever at This Wedding at 74Wythe in Brooklyn, New York

Bianca Volpetti and Dillon Balsamo’s love story is one deeply rooted in family ties and longer-than-life connections. As Bianca would say, “Our story runs deep.” Their grandfathers shared an enduring friendship, having grown up together in Brooklyn. “They were best friends their whole lives,” Bianca explains. Though Dillon and Bianca’s paths diverged when their families moved, fate had its plans. The two reconnected in college, reigniting a bond that had been quietly waiting in the background. “We found our way back to each other as adults after experiencing life without each other,” the bride reflects. “This time was crucial for our current relationship. We learned so much, grew as people and really figured out what we wanted.” Their journey culminated in a simple yet unforgettable moment. One casual Sunday, over a cozy dinner in Brooklyn, Dillon seized the perfect moment. “Before dessert came, Dillon asked me if I had plans for the rest of my life while getting down on one knee,” Bianca recalls. “I didn’t even look at the ring or say yes; I just started balling, crying and hugging him.”

Reflecting on the many concerts, music festivals and nights spent in clubs that had defined so much of their time together, one thing was clear: music had to be at the heart of their celebration. They envisioned a wedding that would honor their love for each other and provide a party where their closest friends and family could dance the night away. The venue, 74Wythe, couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. “It used to be a nightclub called Output, which we both frequented many times,” explains the bride. Choosing this spot for their wedding was like coming full circle; it was the ultimate setting for the giant party they envisioned.

While music set the tone for the evening, tradition also played an important role in their day. Dillon and Bianca grew up in Italian Catholic families, so a beautiful church ceremony was a must. The ceremony was a touching and beautiful homage to their roots, a sacred moment that contrasted beautifully with the vibrant celebration that would follow. With their venue and ceremony planned, Bianca and Dillon turned their attention to the aesthetics of their wedding. They envisioned an event overlooking the iconic NYC skyline, a dream that 74Wythe’s rooftop could perfectly fulfill. The venue’s inherent beauty was amplified by the talents of the pair’s florist, who transformed the space into a magical setting. The team created a ceiling installation and a stunning sweetheart table that stood out as Bianca’s favorite pieces. “The flowers really set the vibe of the room,” she says, noting how the lush arrangements, tall centerpieces and warm candlelight created an elegant and inviting atmosphere.

When it came to fashion, the bride and groom opted for timeless elegance with a personal twist. Bianca’s dress was the epitome of understated beauty—a simple gown with a low back, delicate buttons and a long cathedral pearl veil. “My dress was extremely simple with small details that I loved,” she shares. After trying on just two dresses, Bianca knew she had found “the one” in the Archie dress by Made with Love Bridal. Meanwhile, Dillon went for a custom tuxedo, complete with his initials on the sleeve and their wedding date embroidered on his shirt and inside the jacket—a subtle yet meaningful detail that made his attire even more special.

As guests began to gather for the ceremony, the excitement was palpable. The church was filled with friends and family, all eagerly awaiting the moment Bianca would walk down the aisle. True to tradition, Bianca and Dillon hadn’t seen each other since the night before, adding to the anticipation of their first look at the altar. “Seeing each other for the first time as my dad walked me down the aisle was such an intimate special moment,” Bianca recalls.

Following the ceremony, the party truly began. Guests were whisked away to the rooftop, where the cocktail hour was anything but ordinary. “In typical Dillon and Bianca fashion,” as they explain, they had incorporated several unique elements into their reception. A tattoo artist—a close friend—set up shop during the cocktail hour, offering guests the chance to get inked with a permanent reminder of the day. Meanwhile, another station featured fresh mozzarella being made on the spot, a nod to their Italian heritage and a delicious treat for their guests. “We had so many things that were nontraditional,” notes the bride, recalling how these personalized touches made their day all the more memorable.

The reception was a departure from the norm, with no assigned seating and no sit-down dinner. Instead, it was an all-night party, with everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. “Our DJ and MC, also good friends of ours, did such a great job at keeping everyone on the dance floor the entire time, which was exactly what we wanted,” says Bianca.

As the evening drew to a close, the newlyweds knew they had created something truly special—a wedding that was uniquely theirs. For other couples planning their big day, Bianca offers some advice: “Make sure at the end of the day you do what you both want to do. The day is about you as a couple and what is important to you both.” She emphasizes the importance of savoring every moment, taking mental pictures and finding a way to share a special moment before the festivities begin. “The entire day and night was absolutely everything Dillon and I wanted,” she concludes.
