Hotel du Pont First Dance

The evening was a series of top-notch musical performances, from the ceremony where the Wilmington String Ensemble and several of the couple’s family friends played songs from "Downton Abbey" and "The Lion King" to the reception where the Jack Faulkner Orchestra got guests out on the dance floor with their rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” When guests need to rest their dancing feet, they swapped out their shoes for a pair of cozy slippers, the couple’s play on the traditional flip-flop. The Boston-based couple also used music as a way to incorporate a piece of their home into the day, making their grand entrance into the reception to “I’m Shipping up to Boston” by the Dropkick Murphys and ending the night with Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” both Fenway Park favorites.
