After lawyers Mayme Donohue and Phoebe Willis proposed to one another, they put together an event filled with personal touches, beginning with the stationery. Magnets asked guests to save the date with a fun instruction: “Boom. Pop the Champagne.” The ceremony was “ultra efficient—no longer than five minutes,” Mayme says, and the pair surrounded themselves with their “squads,” a title they preferred over “wedding party.” Afterward, Mayme and Phoebe cut into a tiered cake filled with colorful rainbow layers, a fun nod to gay pride. “There was something liberating for us about thinking of our wedding outside of the box,” Mayme says. As for fashion, Mayme added a little bling to her look with sparkly loafers. “I’m known for my loafer collection, and I knew I couldn’t disappoint,” she says.
