Historic Museum Wedding at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC
Ashley McGlamery, 27, a leading consultant, and Stanley Webb, 40, restaurant business, had an instant connection when they met in Atlanta, Georgia and bonded over their mutual love for Washington, DC where they eventually moved in together. Stanley proposed to Ashley with a ring and two glasses of champagne during intermission at Cirque du Soliel show. The couple had their wedding ceremony and reception at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in downtown DC. Ivory wedding invitations sent out to guests had plum colored text and were bordered with gold foil, reflecting the color palette of ivory and gold that the couple specifically chose for their wedding day. "I always knew i wanted an elegant wedding over everything else, and elegant to me is in the form of the colors ivory and gold," says Ashley. "Everything else just really fell into place from there." The tables at the wedding reception were marked with ames of the couple's favorite parts of Washington, DC, symbolic for their love of the city where they first moved in together. It only made sense that for their "honeymoon" they simply stayed in the place they fell in love with and in.
