Hilary and Paul got to know each other when they ended up in the same class together in college in San Luis Obispo. Then, during homecoming week that year, Paul’s fraternity asked Hilary’s sorority to work on the homecoming float with them. The two were inseparable that week and after homecoming, Paul asked Hilary out on a date. Once Hilary knew there was a ring, she thought that every night thereafter would be the proposal night. The waiter brought the check, and Paul asked Hilary to check and see how much they owed -- and that’s when she saw the ring sticking out of the bill folder.
