While she was attending Colorado State University, Heidi and a close friend decided they were in dire need of a girls’ night out. The two headed to Old Chicago, where they soon met Jason, 29, a psychologist. Jason was bartending there while he attended grad school at the University of Northern Colorado. “Right away I knew there was something special about him,” Heidi remembers—and her friend seconded her opinion. With the friend’s help, Heidi and Jason had their first date a few weeks later. And less than a year after that, Jason proposed. He and Heidi began planning an intimate, elegant wedding celebration in Denver.
