Mary and Yani's wedding was an opportunity to honor their identities. “I am Thai-Italian, and Yani is Portuguese, Greek and Hawaiian,” Mary says. “We blended our cultures with rustic and boho touches.” The pair played up Colorado’s natural beauty with outdoor vows, but brought the West Coast vibes with a Cali-inspired pampas grass altar to honor Mary’s home state. At the ceremony, Yani rocked a lei imported directly from Hawaii. During cocktail hour, guests sipped refreshing vodka lemonades and listened to Hawaiian music.

Mary and Yani chose dark green invitations with black envelopes. “I wanted to make a statement,” Mary says. Vintage Hawaiian stamps brought a tropical feel to the suite. The couple made their dance floor debut to the sound of Thomas Rhett’s “Die a Happy Man.” “From the moment we first heard this song, Yani would spin me around the living room, so choosing it was a no-brainer,” Mary says.

Dark, jagged geodes added a raw, organic vibe to the tables. “I really wanted to play up Mother Nature and her creations,” Mary says.  Tall arrangements of grass, greenery, white roses and hanging amaranthus struck a romantic note against the dark, rustic wood and string lights of Planet Bluegrass. Terra-cotta vases filled with breezy Californian pampas grass and inscribed with white calligraphy directed guests to their seats. “The terra-cotta vases brought warmth to the décor,” Mary says.
