Haue Valley Ceremony Recessional

Anna had always been close with her grandmother, so wearing her wedding dress was a given. “Ever since I was a teenager, I would try on my grandma’s wedding dress for fun and she always told me I could wear it at my wedding,” says Anna. “The older I got, the more I loved vintage pieces. So not only was my grandma’s dress perfect for my style, having been so close to my grandma made the dress really special for me.” The1942 gown had a feel of old Hollywood glamour with ivory silk fabric, a flattering A-line silhouette and hand-sewn beaded details at the waist. Anna enlisted the help of a local seamstress to bring up the dress and remove the long sleeves, which gave the dress a touch of personal flair. “The seamstress had to re-sew all 3,500 beads by hand onto the dress because she was concerned that the cotton thread from the ‘40s wouldn’t hold up to a night of dancing,” says Anna.
