Handcrafted Wood Bench Guest Book Alternative
"I wanted our "guest book" to be more than something that would ultimately find its way onto a shelf. I wanted it to be something that Brad and I would see and use everyday," says Kerri. She contacted a friend from high school, a SCAD graduate and talented furniture maker to create a custom coffee table to substitute for a guest book. He loved the idea and designed a one-of-a-kind table made from a slab of Arkansas wood. He then created a powder coated steel "branch" that was inlayed into the live-edge walnut top. "He said that it not only represented the gorgeous trees that surrounded our ceremony but that the branch was also a representation of the new "family tree" branch that Brad and I were, in essence, creating," says Kerri. "Guests signed the steel inlay, and we now have a stunning piece of furniture that has such special meaning on so many levels."
