Kelly and Steven love music from the ’70s and ’80s, so they took inspiration from the song “September,” by Earth, Wind & Fire. “We wanted to create eclectic, old soul vibes and an easygoing atmosphere,” Kelly says. Groovy invites set the tone for an autumn celebration full of earthy flowers, a custom moon-inspired altar and a disco ball—what’d you expect?

Kelly and Steven rocked “ride or die” jean jackets at the reception while getting P. Terry’s burgers with special sauce. Instead of a cake, everyone dug into soft pretzels and ice cream.

Kelly surprised Steven, a Star Wars fan, and Dax, their 3-year-old son, with Stormtroopers, who entered the reception to “Imperial Death March,” which you know as Darth Vader’s theme song.
