Groom in Army Uniform, Bride With Long Veil
When Phillip chose to wear his Army uniform, Kristi knew she wanted “classic and timeless” 1930s-Hollywood style for her own look. She wore a form-fitting mermaid-style strapless chiffon gown with a lace overlay, a diamond necklace, and crystal drop earrings. She pinned back wavy curls with a crystal barrette. Her veil was handmade in Greece and lined with lace and crystal beads. “I think the veil was one of my favorite parts of my look,” Kristi says. “It was the piece that made me truly feel like a bride.” The groom wore his Army service uniform. “There is so much honor and pride that comes with Phillip’s unit’s uniform,” Kristi says. The history of the 82nd Airborne Division dates to World War I. “They still decorate their uniforms with a cord to honor a past battle and victory. The uniforms are no doubt beautiful.” The groomsmen wore their uniforms if they were in the military; the others ordered their tuxes online (they were shipped straight to their doors).
