God's Knot Wedding Unity Ceremony Tradition

Sydney and Todd did a God's Knot for their unity ceremony tradition. The Christian bible verse at the top read, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12." The white strand represents the bride, the gold the groom and the purple God. The couple braided the strands together to represent starting a life together with God in the middle. "We found this was more meaningful to us then doing unity candles or unity sand," Sydney says. "God is an important part of our lives, and we believe the key to a successful marriage is to have Him at the center. The knot tying seemed to display that perfectly!"
