A Glam Mauve-Hued Wedding at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California
Shades of pink inspired Diana Le (33 and a clinical pharmacist) and David Ngo’s (34 and a psychiatrist) glamorous wedding at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California. They wanted to showcase the color in all of its beautiful varieties and leaned into an ombré palette ranging from dusty pink and blush to deep berry. The couple first introduced the color scheme in their invitations, sealed with wax stamps, and carried it throughout the whole wedding. Even the menu got the pink treatment, as guests enjoyed raspberry frangipane tarts at the reception. To add a luxe feel to the design, Diana and David layered in a variety of textures and surfaces, from a mirrored ceremony aisle to glass tabletop decor, like delicate cloches that served as table numbers.
Before the wedding, Diana and David held a tea ceremony as a tribute to their parents. In addition to the ritual, Diana says that her father-daughter dance was a meaningful part of the wedding, because “my dad whispered that he was so proud of the person I’ve become.”
The couple’s catering focused on variety. “We wanted our guests to enjoy different types of foods and have fun with ones they may not have tried before,” says Diana. The menu included ice cream push pops, a milk-and-cookie station and gummy bear martinis with pea-flower syrup.
The couple celebrated their cats—Gummy, Bear, Lexi and Boba—and their dog, Butters, in multiple ways throughout the wedding. In addition to commissioning an ice sculpture bearing the likeness of the five animals, David surprised Diana by adding “pictures of our pets to the lining of his custom blue suit jacket, so they could be with us on our special day,” says Diana. "We had an ice sculpture of our fur babies displayed during the reception," says Diana. "We also chose to name our signature cocktails after out pets, both those that are still with us and those that have passed."
