Eduardo and Matthew have done things their way, beginning with their engagement. “Eduardo and I were on a boat and suddenly, he turned to me and asked, ‘Why aren’t we married already?’ and I said, ‘Well, we can fix that,’” Matthew says. The couple made it official with a wedding at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, saying their vows among the Palm House’s lush greenery. “From the first time I stepped into the Palm House, I knew I wanted to be married there,” Matthew says. “When I took Eduardo there on our second date, he was in agreement. It’s such a landmark, we let it speak for itself. The venue inspired all the details, from the earthy green palette to the succulents on the cake.
Eduardo and Matthew wore the same Bonobos suits, but in different colors—Eduardo in blue and Matthew in gray. “We had a complementing and contrasting effect, just like our personalities,” Eduardo says.
For decoration, the grooms punched up the reception tables with colorful lilies and aromatic herbs, like rosemary and mint.
