Fresh Flowers Inspired This Intimate Backyard Wedding in New Fairfield, Connecticut
Charissa and Jonny studied French together long before they became a couple. In their college class, Charissa “learned that Jonny liked to ski, and he learned that I liked to go to the movies with friends.” Though the couple initially bonded over the language of love, they didn’t share that sentiment until years later.
While wedding planning, the pair was living in Los Angeles but returned to their college roots for a celebration in Connecticut. “We’ve been getting flowers from Joy’s Flower Pot since we moved to the area—her unique style can’t be beat,” Charissa says. Tables were decorated with crystal bud vases and goblets, blue and white china, and flatware Charissa sourced from Sweden.
The couple’s wedding cake was an Asian-inspired green tea flavor topped with fondant and real flowers. “Hiring a wedding planner was the best decision we made,” Charissa says. “Planning a tented outdoor wedding at a private property from 3,000 miles away is not exactly easy.”
