Formal Winter Wedding at Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Missouri
rn Although Darby Hogan (29 and a physical education teacher) and Steven Hille (30 and a construction project manager) didn't go to the University of Missouri, they met there while visiting friends for the college's 100th homecoming celebration. They started dating shortly after, around the time the St. Louis Cardinals were on the road to a World Series victory in 2001. "It was an exciting time in St. Louis and created an amazing atmosphere for the start of our relationship," Darby says. After a proposal at Darby's family's vacation home in Michigan, the couple returned to plan their wedding in the city they love. After a moving ceremony at Washington University's Graham Chapel, Darby, Steven and their guests made their way to St. Louis's iconic Missouri Athletic Club—the same spot where Darby's parents had had their reception. Because Darby and Steven's wedding was just before Christmas, they outfitted their day in shades of black, gold, cream and white. These timeless hues maintained a festive feel while steering clear of Christmas greens and reds. Nods to St. Louis and Darby and Steven's love for cycling appeared throughout the day's decor, most notably in the form of the giant Gateway Arch Steven's dad made for the escort card display. Despite the wedding's traditional vibe, Darby couldn't wait to change into her black and gold sneakers for the dance party, which included glow sticks and a limbo competition. —Meghan Overdeep
