Even though Diane met Jeffrey in the first grade, it wasn’t until 16 years later when they were both living in New York City that the two reconnected -- and Diane realized she still had a crush on him after all those years! They soon started dating, and three years later, Jeffrey invited Diane to move to London with him. She accepted, and took a job with Peggy Porschen, a top wedding cake designer. On Christmas Eve, he got down on one knee and revealed the cookie to Diane -- and then pulled out a ring. The couple opted for a burgundy-and-yellow color palette for their formal wedding

Guests took home mini cakes covered in yellow-and-burgundy fondant (Diane baked these, too!).
Oval pails filled with chocolates, teas, and beer from the towns the couple had lived in together waited for guests in their hotel rooms. Diane also baked wedding cake cookies resembling the one Jeff gave her when he proposed and added those to the pails.
Diane baked and decorated the seven-tier cake with fondant icing and lace detailing. Each layer had a different flavor, including banana with chocolate ganache, chocolate with pistachio buttercream, and chocolate chip with raspberry jam.
A yellow Damask design and formal, script font decorated the square invitations.
The 12-piece band played Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” for the couple’s first dance.
Gold chargers, votives, and rose-and-hydrangea centerpieces popped against the Merlot-color tablecloths.
