Esther and Loren met at a New Year’s Eve party. Both avid mountain bikers, the two immediately delved into conversation about outdoor adventures. “We talked about our love of cycling, camping, backpacking, and other outdoor activities,” says Esther. “I just wanted to talk to him all night long.” They put each other’s adventurous nature to the test with a first date at an indoor rock climbing gym. He told her he was impressed with her climbing abilities, and the two soon became inseparable. After considering a clifftop proposal, he settled on getting down on one knee at their campsite after the big trip, for fear of dropping the ring. “It was very fitting for us, having this special moment take place in a beautiful outdoor location,” says Esther.

To celebrate their love of climbing, Esther and Loren had keychain carabiners engraved with their names attached to the escort cards. Strands of satin ribbon attached to a wooden stand with hanging orchid flowers displayed the cards.

Esther and Loren said “I do” beneath an arch covered with green and pink pomanders. After the outdoor ceremony, the couple had a traditional Korean pae baek ceremony.
Button mums with fiddleheads were pinned to the lapels of Loren’s and his groomsmen’s black two-button tuxes from Formal Headquarters International.
The Ceremony Decor
Beautiful bouquets of pink roses and green mums sat at the center of each table at Esther and Loren’s reception.

An assortment of green and pink flowers tied with brown and green satin ribbon accents made up Esther’s bridesmaids’ bouquets.
