Emily & Michael: A Traditional Wedding in Chagrin Falls, OH
When Emily and Michael first started dating, the circumstances were far from ideal: They lived five hours apart, had both just gotten out of serious relationships and attended different universities. Nonetheless, they decided to give it a shot after meeting through mutual friends. He lit candles, had their favorite songs playing and poured a glass of Emily's favorite wine. When they were done, Emily started clearing the table, and when she turned around, Michael was holding the engagement ring they had picked out while vacationing in Martha's Vineyard the week before. For their wedding a little over a year later, they didn't have a specific theme, but, says Emily, We wanted guests to feel as though they were transported back in time. The Tudor-style Hillbrook Club was just the place. With the help of a planner, the couple created an inviting wedding day with homespun details and a warm palette of purples, greens and browns.
