Emily & Brent in Nobleboro, ME

Emily and Brent chose a spot for their wedding that perfectly matched their laid-back style - and it had a lot of emotional significance, too. The couple got married at a boy's camp that Emily's great uncle founded nearly 80 years ago. THE BRIDE Emily Walker, 29, an advertising executive THE GROOM Brent West, 29, an advertising executive THE DATE September 13 Emily had just begun a new job in New York when a coworker started trying to set her up with Brent. Unfortunately for Brent (and for their would-be matchmaker), Emily wasn't interested. Then one summer day, Brent unexpectedly asked Emily if she wanted to grab a friendly beer with him after work. The hours they spent talking that day (and night) transformed the casual encounter into their first date! One night two years later, Emily dreamed that she and Brent had become engaged. When Emily casually mentioned her dream the next morning Brent was certain that either she was telepathic or just plain knew -- he'd been planning a proposal for that very day! Thankfully, later on when he presented her with three-dozen long-stem roses and a telltale jewelry box, she couldn't have been more surprised. My hands were over my mouth in disbelief, but it was the best feeling I've ever had! she says. The couple selected a sentimental location for their festivities: Camp Kieve, a boy's camp in Maine which had been in Emily's family for years. The choice meant a lot to her family, and luckily Brent fell in love with it as well! Emily started planning immediately with tons of help from an unexpected source -- her father. We joke about it all the time because typically the mom and the daughter do all the planning, but for our wedding, he and I did it all ourselves. He really enjoyed it, too!
