When Emily Jordan decided to spend a year of college abroad, she didn't know when she'd see her friend Aaron Vixie again. It turns out that Aaron emailed me almost every day, which ended up being four months instead of the entire year, Emily explains of her abbreviated stay in France due to the events of September 11, 2001. The Exit
The ceremony was simple and traditional. We just wanted to say I do, remembers Emily, who wore a simple Vera Wang gown. Afterward, they took pictures and left for the reception in a white limousine under a shower of rose petals.
Before the wedding, Emily's father treated her to a plane ride over the ranch. Then she joined her mother and sisters in a horse-drawn carriage that took her to the grove, with her father and friends preceding them on horseback.

The couple chose to marry in the pecan grove on Emily's father's 114-acre Twin Oaks Ranch. We wanted it to be as elegant as possible, says Emily. With a waterfall, an aisle of rose petals, and silk-draped natural wood chairs, they transformed the grove into a chic outdoor chapel.
