Elegant Georgetown Wedding

Every aspect of Bowman (Bo) Johns (28 and a consultant) and Michael Hennessy’s (28 and a consultant) wedding was filled with meaning. They married in Georgetown, where Bo grew up and Michael went to college, at the church Bo has attended since he was a child. The reception was held a few blocks away at Bo’s parents’ house, where the couple shared their first kiss and got engaged. The finishing touch? The duo hired the band that played at Bo’s parents’ rehearsal dinner to entertain guests into the night. Bo and Michael married at Christ Church in Georgetown.
Silver vases filled with spray roses, ferns, viburnum berries and snapdragons topped tables.
“We wanted our wedding to be classic and elegant, but also personal and fun,” Bo says. “Our time in Georgetown influenced the vibe, especially the navy and white palette.” Guests munched on mini grilled cheeses, quesadillas and watermelon gazpacho in the front yard. “It felt like garden party, with the band playing on the porch,” Bo says. The newlyweds cut into a simple vanilla cake and offered up 10 flavors of cupcakes.
