An Elegant, Formal Wedding at The Driskill in Austin, Texas

Emy McClendon, 27 and a nurse practitioner at Baylor University Medical Center, and Cole Smith, 26 and a Financial Analyst at Targetbase, met in New York City. After graduating from the University of Texas, Emy moved to New York and became friends with Cole's older brother at church. When Cole moved to NYC, he and Emy became friends and started dating several months later. Cole proposed to Emy in Washington Square Park, framing the centerpiece of the couple's wedding: a cake shaped like the famous Washington Square Arch. Their ceremony in Central Christian Church in was classic, reverent and well-suited the style and size of the wedding. The party then moved to The Driskill: a gorgeous, historic hotel in downtown Austin with a grand ballroom complete with classic columns and chandeliers for ambient lighting. The formal dining tables featured elegant silver trumpet vases with large pale floral arrangements of amaryllis, roses and orchids, crystal candelabras and candles to add to the romance of the evening. At the end of the reception, Emy and Cole's guest showered them with white flower petals and the newlyweds were whisked away by a horse and carriage.
