An Elegant-Boho Wedding at The Fells Historic Estate and Gardens in Newbury, New Hampshire
Though Dale and Michael married at an elegant historic estate on Lake Sunapee, their celebration was decidedly unstuffy. They made sure guests had drinks in-hand for the ceremony, which Dale’s cousin and her husband jointly officiated, and shared laughs during their vows. The casual mood continued during the father-daughter dance, when Dale’s dad stopped the band and jokingly asked for a faster tune they could swing dance to. Dale carried an arrangement of dahlias, ranunculus, roses, lavender and seeded eucalyptus.
Guests kicked back in a cozy seating area by the fireplace, where baskets held blankets in case it got chilly. Dale and Michael echoed Lake Sunapee and the venue’s gardens by incorporating lush greenery, potted plants, a dusty blue palette and exposed wood. The couple served Manhattans, which Dale’s dad makes for anyone who visits their house on the lake, and a barbecue dinner of pulled pork as a nod to Michael’s Texan roots.
