Animal docs Elaine and Ernie first met in veterinary school at Oklahoma State University. A few months before graduation, the two finally started dating. Just a few days later, the couple visited Keystone, Colorado, and so the next year when Ernie had to fly out to Denver for a meeting, it was only natural that Elaine joined him soon after for a ski trip. The next day, Ernie told Elaine he was going to ski down to an overlook and take a video of her coming down the mountain. Elaine didn’t think anything of it until she came down the run and saw Ernie, down on one knee in the snow holding an engagement ring. “It was perfect!” she says. The couple soon began planning a wedding in their adopted home state of Kentucky. With friends and family coming in from all over the country, it was the perfect time for Elaine and Ernie to introduce people to the place where they were beginning their new life together.
